Making use of the Community Capacity Enhancement methodology, CHoiCe Trust facilitators conduct dialogues in communities and amongst targeted populations (including farm workers) to provide a platform for beneficiaries to engage on matters which affect them. Through the steps of concern identification and concern exploration, communities are able to more deeply engage on matters which affect their health and development.
After establishing an action plan, a member of the community is elected to represent and serve the community on a task team, CHoiCe Trust is then able to work with individuals in the community to enhance their own capacity and tap into the social capital which exists to ensure that actions are implemented in direct response to what the community has identified. This methodology has been proven to result in behavioural change amongst communities as a result of its approach in building a voice for communities- it’s for communities by communities.
