With a team of trained and professional Lay Counsellors, CHoiCe Trust provides HIV testing services in community and workplace settings. Providing health education, condom demonstrations and distribution, HIV testing services, hypertension and TB screening, CHoiCe Trust’s team implement outreach services so that clients can access these services in their own spaces. This contributes towards communities taking responsibility and treating those with HIV and/or encouraging preventative measures.
Through partnership with the Department of Health, CHoiCe Trust ensures that clients who test positive for HIV or TB are able to access the care and support that they need at health facilities. These interventions contribute towards the 90-90-90 goal of South Africa to have 90% of the population knowing their HIV status; 90% of those who test positive placed on treatment; and 90% of those on treatment being virally suppressed.
CHoiCe facilitates Adherence Clubs for over 500 patients in the Tzaneen area with technical support from HPCA and the CaSIPO programme. The Clubs enable clients who are on chronic treatment to access their medication in a time-efficient manner and to reduce the burden on the client as well as on the health facilities.
