We have reimagined CHoiCe Trust - take a look!

HIV & TB Testing

Providing health education, condom demonstrations and distribution, HIV testing services, hypertension and TB screening, CHoiCe Trust’s team implement outreach services so that clients can access these services in their own spaces. This contributes towards communities taking responsibility and treating those with HIV and/or encouraging preventative measures.
Through partnership with the Department of Health, CHoiCe Trust ensures that clients who test positive for HIV or TB are able to access the care and support that they need at health facilities.

Palliative Care

The programme has a holistic approach and focuses specifically on pain management for the patient as well as psychosocial, spiritual and emotional support to the patient and their family members.  With a focus on cancer patients, CHoiCe Trust’s palliative nurse works directly with health facilities so that their care continues from the public health sector to their own households. Training family members for home-based care is part of our programmes initiative to ensure continuous comfort and support for the patient

Training & Mentorship

Formal training courses are offered in the CHoiCe Trust headquarters as well as other facilities. Through our partnership with St. John Ambulance CHoiCe provided accredited First Aid training and other courses. Non-accredited training provided includes:
·   Health trainings (including HIV, TB, STIs, NCDs)
·   Food Garden training
·   Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) training
·   Stigma and Discrimination training
·   Journey of Life training
·   Voluntary Savings and Loans training
·   Let’s Talk training
·   Vhutshilo training
·  Organisational Development training (including fundraising, financial management, human resources and strategic planning).

Mentoring has also been added to the services supplied by CHoiCe Trust after local Community Based Organisations expressed the need for a deeper, continued support following training.  Government representatives and donors encouraged the shift towards a more intense learning experience by CHoiCe Trust.  This programme has garnered positive results, making it clear that intensive and deeper involvement with a CBO’s lead to more sustainable results.

Orphaned & Vulnerable Children

In order to address the vulnerabilities faced by children in South Africa (particularly as a result of the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on households), CHoiCe Trust provides direct services to children.  With interventions aiming to build and capacitate circles of support around the child, the organisation works to identify the most vulnerable households and ensure that they receive the services that they need.
